Liver problems- Signs that shouldn’t be ignored

The liver is without a doubt one of the most important organs in our digestive system because it metabolizes and stores nutrients which are only ready to be absorbed and used by the organism after passing through the liver .  It is mostly known for being a filtration station for the body but did you know the liver  has more than 400 functions? It eliminates toxins, purifies the blood, absorbs nutrients and uses it as energy, your liver also produces bile which is responsible for breaking down the fats and the foods and it also stores glucose to use as energy.   Who knew the liver had so many attributes? But what happens when you have a bad liver ?

A lot of attributes may be a big problem especially when things go wrong and when  this happens (which is not rare ), its a critically serious condition.  So it is very important to keep an eye on symptoms or signs that the body gives you to tell you that something is wrong with your liver :

Bruises

The liver also helps in blood coagulation, that is a  why a liver disease may facilitate the appearance of purplish spots on the skin.

What does itchiness has to do with the liver? you ask, well my friend when you live can not filtrate toxins ,this toxins are then stuck in the blood stream therefore causing itchiness.

Changes in the color of your urine can also mean excess of bilirubin in the blood, which is caused by a damaged liver .

Bleeding

Liver malfunction causes a serious  lack of protein ,which will then result in bleeding and bruises.

Loss of Appetite

The nausea, lack of energy and vomiting  present may cause loss of appetite.

Yellowish or light colored feces

Bilirubin is also responsible for giving  a brown color to the feces and when it is not correctly excreted ,the feces become lighter. Bilirubin is a yellow substance found in bile.

Yellow skin and eyes

The accumulation of bilirubin in the blood causes the your eyes and or skin to become yellow, one of the main symptoms when facing liver problems.
